TORRANCE, California: Honda is recalling over 700,000 vehicles due to a potential defect in the high-pressure fuel pump, which could crack and leak fuel, posing a fire risk.
This marks the automaker's second large-scale recall in October, following an earlier recall of 1.7 million vehicles over potential steering issues.
The recall affects several models, including the 2023-2024 Accord and Accord Hybrid, the 2025 Civic and Civic Hybrid, and the 2023-2025 CR-V Hybrid.
Honda revealed that from February 2023 through September 2024, it received 145 warranty claims related to the faulty fuel pumps. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities have been reported in connection with the issue.
As part of the recall, Honda dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and replace the fuel pumps, if necessary, at no cost to owners. Official notification letters are expected to be mailed on December 4. For further information, owners can contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138.
