BEIJING, July 22 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

A350 DELIVERIES IN CHINA

Airbus has inaugurated its A350 aircraft project at its widebody completion and delivery center in north China's Tianjin. It is the first time the European planemaker has launched such a project for the A350 outside Europe.

It delivered an A350 aircraft to China Eastern Airlines at the Airbus Tianjin Widebody Completion and Delivery Center on Wednesday.

A total of five A350 widebodies will be delivered in Tianjin in 2021, and more deliveries to Chinese customers are underway as the center has ramped up its production rate and market demand is recovering, according to Airbus China.

EXPO TO HIGHLIGHT SCI-TECH

The fifth China-Arab States Expo will be held in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region from Aug. 19 to 22 with a focus on sci-tech cooperation, the organizers said Wednesday.

A conference on technology transfer and innovation cooperation between China and the Arab countries will also be convened on the sidelines of the expo.

It will bring together representatives from the relevant countries' science and technology authorities and research institutions to pool wisdom on jointly building regional sci-tech cooperation platforms, sharing achievements and promoting innovation collaboration.

SCI-EXPEDITION AT YANGTZE'S HEADWATERS

Chinese scientists on Wednesday launched a new round of expedition in the headwater region of the Yangtze River in Xining, northwest China's Qinghai Province, to investigate the region's ecological conditions.

The comprehensive scientific expedition will look into the conditions of water resources, glacial recession and soil and water loss, among others, according to the Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute of the Changjiang Water Resources Commission, which is leading the expedition.
